This is not a straight forward cable, there is an internal converter circuit board (interface) mounted in the USB shell. This programming interface cable is completely equal to the HYT PC27 cable, and replaces HYT PC23 serial port programming cable. The cable communicates directly with a computer through the now popular and standard USB interface. A physical Serial Port connection is not needed since the supplied drivers emulate a virtual Serial Port which communicates with a radio at the required TTL voltage levels.
