The specs state that Windows 7 & 8 are supported, but no mention of Linux. According to the manual, the BIOS has a MultiBIOS configuration option for selecting the BIOS mode for either Windows 7 or 8. A review mentioned it has a UEFI BIOS, but I can't find mention of that in the specs or manual. How can I work out if Linux can run on this box (other than buying one to find out the hard way)?

You may also need to add your LoginUser to a 'group' to allow linux to give you access to what you are trying to use. To use my geiger counter with a USB to Serial Adapter I had to add my Username to the 'dialout' group.and a few other things to allow Linux to use the USB port.
