Last night I was listening to some selections I have on my I tunes library and I wasn't very happy. The bass was fuzzy and the upper midrange was gritty and edgy. So I pulled out two of the same CD's out of my CD/SACD library. They surpassed the iTunes down loads in so many ways. I'll just say after an hour something I had known for a long time was still true. Music off the internet can't match a CD, or SACD at home.

I will admit Apple TV works better than Airport express. My next experiment will be using the optical output of the Airport express instead of the analog and let the3 151 decode the digital sound. As I have experienced before a MX 151 is a very discerning piece. Sources with exquisite sound are presented at their best, But source material that might get buy with a 119, C-34 or 120 that you will let pass, will flunk big time being presented with a 151.

Its like the difference between an incandescent flashlight and a quartz flashlight. Both will allow to read the fine print where the quartz flashlight will allow you to recognize the quality of the paper. I would have to add another HDmi cable for the 4 th gen TV and thats a big problem at the moment. I would have to move furniture and big speakers and have my carpet guy pull up a corner of the carpet and install some more flat HDMI cables. Its not the money but all the effort involved.

The HDMI cable from the Apple tv is 18' long and is going directly to the Pioneer display and an optic cable 35' long is going to the MX 151. I would have to run another HDMI cable to the 151 for the Apple TV.directly to the MX 151 23 ft. I guess I could move the Apple TV next to the 151 but then I would have to install a in fared repeater to operate the Apple TV. More cabling I don't have.
